Nutritional Services

Our bodies have an amazing capacity to thrive, heal and be vibrant. To do so, we need a combination of right nutrients and the ability to properly digest them. Nutritional therapy addresses these underlying root causes of health issues, not just isolated symptoms.  Symptoms are merely our body’s way of communicating that it has fallen out of balance. These symptoms might look like fatigue, weight gain, headaches, back pain, sugar cravings, sinus infections, depression, anxiety, PMS, constipation, asthma, eczema, rosacea or allergies (just to name a few).  If these symptoms are not addressed and resolved, more serious issues can develop.  At Vibrant Roots, we will work together to bring your body back into balance through food, lifestyle and environmental changes.

Menu Planning

It can be challenging to prepare healthy meals for ourselves and our families.  A little planning can go a long way in terms of saving time, money and stress around meal times.  Learn how to establish a food budget (and make the most of your food dollar), create a menu plan (including recipe suggestions and sample plans), save time and energy through efficiency techniques and address special dietary needs.

Pantry Clean Up (includes Refrigerator/Freezer)

Everyone’s cupboards, refrigerators, freezers and pantries have foods in them that need help out the door, as some of them are not good for the body. An hour visit will cover what should and should not be in your pantry, including the best healthy choices for your lifestyle, how long to keep items, tips for organizing and ideas to help you transition to healthier food choices.

Supermarket and Farmer’s Market tours

We all get into patterns and habits that are challenging to break.  Nowhere is this more apparent than in the supermarket.  I have found that merely walking the aisles with clients, helping them create an effective grocery list, read and really understand food labels, find foods and brands that work for their health and cooking goals can make the world of difference.  Our trip includes where to shop, how stores are set up for healthy shopping. The skills you will learn on this field trip will make your grocery shopping a pleasant and educating experience.

I also offer special field trips to the Sunday farmer’s market in Ballard. We will visit different vendors, and you will learn the questions to ask growers and ranchers to make the best food choices. We will also learn to read and understand the signs and labels unique to the market.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
